About Us

CFD Central Securities (Pty) Ltd was founded by Mark Wurr in 2008 and is authorised by the South African Financial Services Board (FSB license no. 35731).

Mark is one of SA’s leading derivative traders, with over twenty year’s front line trading experience. He started in 1990 with an apprenticeship on the floor of the London Metal Exchange working for Metalgeselschaft AG developing into a trader trading Base Metals. He then moved back to South Africa to work for Rand Merchant Bank starting up their commodities desk. After many happy years at RMB he moved into physical commodity trading working for Glencore.

In 2000, together with a few friends, they founded Global Trader, an online spread trading company.

Together with the Global Trader team, Mark was instrumental in the development of single stock futures and then became one of the “Founding Fathers” of CFD instruments in South Africa.

Today CFD Central is a leading broker in JSE equity CFD’s. Dealing specifically with the needs of high net worth individuals and offshore investors looking to trade the JSE with leveraged products. The focus being on a premium service at the lowest cost available in the market
